Rajasthan is endemic to discrimination against women. This discrimination is often manifested in violence against women. To provide succor to the women victims of violence, KRF is running a family counselling centre at RBM District Hosptial in the room no. 8. The FCC attracts violence victims from all over the district. In most of the cases a solution is found. But those cases which defy solution at this level are referred to the police, court, District Collector and State Women Commission.
Some instances of violence against women are referred from the FCC from ICTC. A few cases are also referred by the ICTC to FCC. Because of physical closeness of the two centres, it is mutual co-existence for both the centres.
Orientation workshops for different actors, particularly those in health sector, have been organised. These have mainly included health service providers of RBM District Hospital. Functioning of FCC and likely role of health service providers has been discussed. Gender aspects have also been touched upon in these workshops. |
